Wallowing in Self Pity

Isn't this a pretty time of year???
I've been babying my knee for months...hoping to get through fall and all the beautiful colors and photo opportunities, but alas...it went out.
It's the "just knowing" that some kind of surgery is in the near future...
I was really hoping that the down time would be during the icky, nasty, cold, "after the holidays". I may be wrong, but I'm not...when you get my age, you just know.
Also when the pain and noninflammatory pills don't help...double dog dang!!!
Wallowing in self pity and shame on me for that!!!
ommm

If your knee hurts and surgery will help, then that sounds like the best plan. Pretty pictures of lavender. Go pick some lavender and place bunches of it around in vases inside your house. The scent is supposed to be very calming.

I hope you get your knee fixed soon. Pain is no good.

Thanks Susan! I don't think I can walk to pick any flowers...It got worse overnight??? I think I overdid it yesterday. My appointment is tomorrow. I'm almost to the point that I can't wait.

Think you might have pushed it as far as you can. Hope the doc has a less drastic measure to restore you but if not, the may the surgery go swimmingly.

I'll have to look up when I hurt my knee but it is just now getting better and no doc or PT involved (can't afford it) other than finding out if I had a blood clot (after a couple of weeks when my whole leg was swollen) which cost me a bundle in ER which I'll pay off in about a year.

I just looked it up. I originally hurt my knee only slightly in November 2014 (and wasn't sure how I did that injury). Then I really injured my knee in March 2015, falling directly while walking quickly across the tile floor in my studio and landing with full weight on my knee, so it has been a long time healing since March, almost six months. Seems like a long time but I bet if I had a surgery it would take that same amount of time to get back to normal.

As we get older I think it takes much longer to heal but I also think it's possible to heal ourselves with time. I have stairs and I have only been bending the knee that's not injured to go up and down and into cars, etc. it takes me three times as long to go up and down but I have been trying to avoid any more medical bills and so far so good.

By the way lavender is antiseptic, healing, and relaxing. Good luck with your knee whichever way you go.

Linda, It's been hurting since May. I fell directly down on it, while taking some pics~but protected my camera(hahaha). I can not put any pressure at all on it. None~~~ Pain pills made me sick(ewww) I have an appointment today, so will know later what's going on. I normally allow time to heal, but it's out of control. One of those "bummrrrr" deals.

Hope you hear good from your doc. I had to have a repair in May.

So sorry to hear about your bad knee -- with pain that bad, it's okay to wallow in self-pity! We all would!

Steve, I'm glad you're on the mend. This pain is just awful and the pain meds leave me so queasy.

Debra, Thanks! Just feelin awful. Will be glad to head to the doctor today and get a plan going.
