The End of Vacation in Taos

This was another fun stop on the way to Taos.
Another photography cornucopia!
The inside was just as awesome as the outside.
Old, rusty gas pumps...I get goose bumps just thinking about all this rust!!!
 An old Packard...
I loved this #8...and just look at what was behind it.
A background of old gas pumps...sheesh!!!
And then there's that overlook of the Gorge!
Sometime, I need to start vacation in Taos, not end it there.
The End!
ommmm

Oh, very cool images! I especially love the rusty gas pumps. You feel like you're stepping back in time with these images!

Martha, It really did. I can imagine some kid, with his hair slicked back and sleeves/jeans rolled up, running out to the car to fill er up! The guy that owns that place asks people who stop and just do photography to donate to a local animal shelter. That's not a problem for me. I love shelters...

Have you ever heard those old fashioned gas pumps being called "bowzers"? It's a term that used to be used in Canada a gazillion years ago.

Debra, No I haven't heard that term. Maybe it was before my time???hahaha...

Randy, I love that overlook. I stop every time I go to Taos. I always think of loping along on a horse and not paying attention and just dropping in to it...hahaha

You certainly took some great shots of the Southwest. Like all the pumps and vehicles all rusted and old. Lots of fun folk art. I imagine you'll be back in that area next year -- it is a gold mine for a photographer. -- barbara

Barbara, I try to get to NM at least every other year. I love it, but try to go other places on the off year.

Glad you posted these. Great photos. I'm so slow at putting together my blogs posts. I am going to do one on the gas pump guy and his love for animals and a link to the Dixon Animal Welfare Society, for which he collects donations.
