Not an Original Destination

More vacation pics!
At first we were going to just spend the night in Tucumcari. It was going to be just a stop on our way to Albuquerque. But then...we realized it was on the famous Route 66.

We started snapping pics.
We took shots well after dark and for hours the next morning.
It was a photographer's cornucopia...

love the old trucks, any kind of rusted metal

These are really nice. I love that entire area of NM for its beauty and also sense of nostalgia.

Linda, I love rust!!! The old tow truck was a fun find for me. My dad had a towing service from around that time.

Rubye, I love NM for much of the same reasons. I also find myself inspired artistically. It's good for me to get away from Kansas and all the Wizard of Oz or Sunflower art.

More photos to come, I hope!

Debra, I think I've bored everybody long enough with my vacation pics. I'll have to come up with some other ideas or go on another blogger break...hahaha

Wonderful images! I love all that rust :) And no, you are not boring anyone. At least not someone like me. I say SHARE some more.

Martha, Thanks! I have so many pics. My photo fried did too. It's amazing how different our photos turned out. We were at the same places, but our shots were so different. It was such a fun trip.

Tucumcari is on the continental divide so does experience minor tremors. My first time there I felt the world move and was in a panic. I went to the motel desk and they just laughed and said not to worry. Hey, I was from the Midwest and we don't have that stuff.

Steve, Nope! we have tornadoes, but not tremors.

TMoon - tell me were these pictures manipulated very much?

Fly, Obviously La Cita was and the Ranch one was. The tow truck wasn't, but it had a funny haze around the front of the truck. I almost did some work on it to get rid of that haze...hahaha. I wanted La Cita to have that "colorful Mexican" look.

These may be the best you've ever posted.
