One Day In the Park

I'm developing a bad habit of rushing my shots.
Having only one, gray, cloudy, rainy...cold!!! day in the park didn't help.
I rushed my shots. Didn't check settings. Didn't sit or wait for "the" shot....you get the idea???
I wanted to see everything and there wasn't time to really see anything.
There simply wasn't time...dang!!!
The Madison was muddy but beautiful...
 So many scenes...so little time!!!
What's a trip to Yellowstone without an Old Faithful shot???
...anyway...I got to go and really...I am grateful!!!
Ommmm

Good stuff but who wants to "sit and wait for shots when it's freezing cold."

Speaking of cold. I went to Costco this morning and did some spontaneous cart-filling. I saw a package of hand/finger warmers and another box of feet warmers. Dump, both in my cart. Have you ever used them? I wonder if they work or do they burn up up alive. LOL

Manz...hmmm I think they work. I used to buy them as stocking stuffers for my boys and husband and they liked them. I love going to Costco...hahaha

wow- even if they are rushed they still look amazing. I am too impatient to be a photographer I think x

Thanks Lisa!!! It was cold and raining, but we had a feeling that they were going to close the parks...and they did, the next day. Sheesh....we drove forever to get there and then one day!!!

You got some very nice shots. I felt the park's mood in your photos. I tend to rush my shots and am sorry when I put them on the editor. Blurring is the result when I rush. I guess I need to say OM before the shot and relax. -- barbara

Barbara, Blurring is bad when I rush and so is tilting... An OM would help me too!!! I didn't meditate while on vacation and I should have.

I think they look great. Was especially thrilled with the buffalo shots. What massive and majestic beasts.

Patti, I loved it, but oooohhhh, what I'd give for one more day!!! BF says we're going back...I sure hope so!

No matter what TMoon I like them and glad you got to go. I'm in New Mexico for a while. Part the yearly camping pass. As you are I'm happy to be able to do things like this. Soooo lucky!

What a fun place to explore. They used to have webcams at Old Faithful.

Fly, Oooh I'm so glad I got to go!!! Hopefully we'll get to go back. There's so much more to see and photograph. Will be looking fwd to seeing pics of NM.

Randy, They are so big!!! I saw some getting waaaay too close.

Steve, They still have a cam at Old Faithful. It's live too...I watch it and get so excited to see buffalo walking by...

Lynn, Great shots even though you had so little time. Wish you and I both could have had more time. We were only there a short time, too. My companions were always in a hurry to move on. I blame them, ha, ha.
I've been slowly adding my Yellowstone photos here: http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/catherine-sherman.html?

Rushed or not, you got some great shots.

Cathy, OOoh how I'd like to go there and really spend some time shooting. One day was simply not enough time. I had hoped that they would have reopened the park, but alas, they didn't. I really felt bad for those from other countries that had spent so much $$$'s to get there only to find the parks were closed.

Thanks, Ellen. I got some good shots, but not great... I had all the places I wanted to photograph all picked out both there and in the Tetons. I really wanted that Mormon Row...double dog dang!!!

Dear Turquoisemoon, as someone who, when holding a digital camera in her hands, feels she's grappling with a hand grenade, I tell you that these photographs seem wonderful to me. I'm so glad you got to see all you saw. You make me want to take to the road in my 16 1/2- year-old car and "go west, young man, go west!" Peace.

Hi Dee... I love going west!!! I need the mountains... that's a need not a want! Believe it or not, the mountains help me get grounded and I find lots of serenity that holds me over till the next trip. Should of moved there when I had the chance!
