U of A to Z

Urban decay (also known as urban rot and urban blight) is the process whereby a previously functioning city, or part of a city, falls into disrepair and decrepitude.
Playing with photo shop...
The last one is the original.
When I took this picture, never noticed the words...just the windows.
I now call this pic, Pancake Flour.
Love roaming the city, no...love just roaming!
ommmm

Did you ever figure out the words? It looks like VIRG....something. I can't see the rest.
Old decayed buildings make good shots but wouldn't you hate having them in your neighborhood.

Neat shot! Can't make out the second faded word though. "Virginia ---- Pancake Flour." Can you tell what that word is?

I love looking at older buildings including houses, and I just love the looks of those windows.

Manzanita, We've got some fun old buildings in an area called The West Bottoms.

Debra, The second word was too faded. Virginia Swe something. I've tried to google the info, but haven't had any luck.

Chung, A lot of people must be thinking the same. I saw many down there taking pictures.

I love old buildings and these photos are great! The faded words let this building speak~

Thanks Jan!!! Funny...didn't even notice the words when I took the pic, just the windows. This is a fun area of KC. Old buildings, antique stores and in October, haunted houses.

Maybe someone will come along and revamp the old girl and turn her into high end apartments. It has happened before.

Patti, They did that in the River Quay area. That's also where the City Market is and some fun shops, but I'd be surprised if they would do that here...but who knows???

I love old buildings- they have a 'grace and elegance' that new ones cant emulate.

Lisa, I've noticed that they have personalities too.

I love these old buildings and often see using them for condos

Steve, There's quite a few in this particular area, but none so far, have been renovated for condos. Will be keeping an eye on them.

Dear Tuquoisemoon, your topics for the A to Z Challenge are so unique. I haven't read each one because I always seem to be behind, but I scroll over them and see the topics and the photographs and read words and I'm always amazed at what you've found to write about. Talent. That's what you have. Peace,

Ooh Dee, Thank you!! I really want to keep it fun, but also, I'm learning my camera and techniques. Sometimes I cheat and just snap a pic. For example P ... didn't take my time or really try to take a cool pic. I'll be real glad when this challenge is done...
