Fire This Morning

Around 4ish this morning, BF woke me up and told me there was a fire up the street.
Grabbed my robe and camera (no coffee yet) and headed out.
I'm really surprised they didn't hose me down...wild hair-no makeup-oversized blue fluffy robe-unbrushed teeth-burkenstocks... Probably scared some of the firefighters...those are some brave fellas!
The house was really in flames.
It was (was...) vacant.  The house had been sold and was undergoing renovations.
 Very thick smoke!
Now my fluffy blue robe needs to be washed...ewwww!
I'm home now...and sipping coffee.
The firefighters are still hard at it...
No one was injured -- thankfully.
And speaking of "thankfully"...
Thank you Firefighters!!!
ommm

That's a terrible way to be jolted out of bed, isn't it? Glad the house was vacant and no one was hurt.

I can envision it...ambitious girl reporter, sitting down to a hot cuppa java and smelling of smoke, as she relates a perilous night in the field to a sleep-weary bf.
I'm not making fun of..... I think it's neat.

Few things are more frightening than a house fire. Thank goodness no one was hurt.
No close ups of a hunky fireman? Oh well.

Debra, Ooh me too! The house is totally destroyed.

Manzanita, hahaha!!! He stayed in the house and watched it on the local news.

Jan, Thanks! I am so retired... After it was all over, I went back to bed, then later got up, had more coffee and started my day over again.

Steve, They had really been working on it. Just got the roof done and were working inside. The garage was loaded. I'm assuming with paint, wood, tools, etc. It burned for a long time and is completely destroyed.

Patti, ARE You Kidding??? hahaha! Hunky firemen stayed far away from me. Maybe it was just the burkenstocks??? oooh funny!!!hahaha

Oh, what a shame for the folks that were trying to renovate the house. I laugh at your description of yourself at the scene of the fire. -- barbara

ok this is a tragedy, and bad, but you were so funny I can;t stop laughing....

Barbara, Oh yes, it was a shame. The place is ruined and will have to be torn down. At 4am...? this is what I looked like, and I could only imagine "the horror"!

Linda, I got really pretty close while taking some of the pics. That "moon" look was actually lights and a hose spraying water on the house. The smell of the smoke really got into my robe and jammies...had to put them in the washer/with snuggle softener. hahaha

Ooh Ana...it is sad for the owner. They had been working so hard on it. As for me...the truth hurts! It was on the news this morning...Thank goodness I wasn't photographed. I'd of shut down this site & FB...never to be heard from again!!!

I appreciate the importance you put on taking pictures. It becomes something other than "just fun" and I think that is important too.

Fly, I've never listed "25 facts about myself that no one knows" but you just guessed #1 ~~ I am intense! Guess it comes from all my 8th house planets?!!!
So...where are you? Are you feeling better? No posts in two weeks??? What's up???
