Study the Eightfold Path
Right View...For starters, I found this beautiful web cam picture of Lake McDonald. Oooh that's not what "Right View" means???
Ok...Seeing things as they truly are, not through the filters of our past experiences.
Right Intentions...I wanna go there or Yellowstone this coming year. That's on my list, but no that's not what "Right Intentions" mean.
As we think, so we become.
Right Speech...I'm always right, hah!!! says BF
Speaking in a way that supports oneself and others in their spiritual path.
Right Action...packing my bag for that wonderful trip. But, if I'd pack right now, the clothes wouldn't fit come fall...Sneaking in the lose weight resolution here. :0
Acting in ways that are wise and compassionate.
Right Livelihood...Yay, I'm retired!!!
Working in a way that supports oneself and others in their spiritual journey.
Right Effort...does this mean no naps??? yawn....
Nope, Having a passion for enlightenment.
Right Mindfulness...what???
Being fully present. This is a toughie for me.
Right Concentration...yawn...
Practicing meditation to train our mind.
hmmmm got my work cut out for me, don't I???
Happy New Year!!!
Ommmmmm...

I know you'll find Nirvana!
happy new year..good luck with your resolutions..I quit making them years ago
Happy New Year. I think I may have to try and follow this path.
I always used to get so stuck on right livelihood. Now that I'm retired, my striving will no longer seem to be to no avail. :)
This is the best post for the beginning of a new year!
Debra, Hmmmm...wouldn't that be wonderful? But, I seem to mess up so much. Guess that's why it's called "practice".
Yellowdog Grannny, I still make them. I also always have another one...to talk softly and gently. Usually mess that one up the minute I wake up. Tend to be naturally loud! :o
Teri, I really try to do these things ...oooh are you meaning going to Yellowstone? Glacier? Happy New Year!
Rubye Jack, meee too!!!
Happy New Year to you all....
Very nice thoughts to bring in the new year.
You have all the "right" ideas. Hope you have no trouble going there.
Thank you for changing the comment box so I can comment easily with out having to sign out first.
Steve, Thank you...
Patti, Hmmm...strange! I haven't changed anything on my blog. I'm afraid to touch it. Don't have the puter savy. I amazed myself when I set up this blog. I admire blogs that have and change pictures at the top of their blogs... I'm just afraid to even try to do this.
I dunno. I'm just going to stick to my two-word resolution: Enjoy yourself. It might be more philosophical than it sounds!
That certainly is a beautiful shot of the lake, the water looks so calm and peaceful. Happy New Year to you too!
Clairz, Oooh I think that's a great resolution. I may do that one next year.
Diane, I love my web cams. When you live in Kansas and dream of mountains... This morning I sipped on coffee and watched Old Faithful. It's a live cam. Sometimes there is buffalo...extra benefit!
To tell you the honest truth I don't even understand this...maybe I need another cup of coffee! or not...I did read your reply to one of the comments about changing the looks of your blog..I am not computer savvy either and Di at The Blue Ridge Gal (she is on my side bar) graciously does people's headers for free or small donation ...if you tell her you are a nice person she does free...lol...
Ain't for city gals, I'm going to work on the various aspects of The Eightfold Path, which is Right View, Right Intentions, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness and Right Concentration. It's a Buddhist thing... :) Hey and thanks for the info on Di, I'll check it out!!!
Excellent post for the new year!
Thanks Linda!!! I plan on reading them every morning. Hopefully I'll then practice them the rest of the day. We'll see how well I do...If I post on something awful...remind me :)
I like the Navaho concept of Walking In Beauty.
Ellen, Yes, that is beautiful!!!
Your resolutions are worthy but yet daunting. Takes a lifetime to come even close to achieving some of these. Thanks for the reminders!!
